This year Kokkola XVIII Winter Accordion had a special visit from France “The Music Juggler” – a fantastic duo of Jérôme Thomas and Jean-Francois Baez combining the art of juggling and accordion in a unique way. Swedish duo Bengan Janson and Janne Åström took their audience by storm with their “Ett Jäkla Drag” -show. World-class trio, Trio Fratres, made their huge comeback-concert after 10 years of silence. They also published a recording “Live At Kuhmo Chamber Music” during Kokkola Winter Accordion.
A pleasant and surprising visit came from Hamburg. Mrs. Susanne Becker wanted to combine skiing and her passion for the accordion on her vacation. In the end of January she Googled “ski and accordion”. Google told her to visit Kokkola. And so she did – spending the whole week enjoying good music, having a few accordion-lessons and skiing every day:
