The Market Choir (Torikööri), Kokkola Regional Accordion Club, Talkoopelimannit and Närpes Spelmansgille are singing and playing music of Finnish composers.

Everyone is welcome and the public are also invited to sing – and dancing is allowed, too. Seppo Lankinen as Master of Ceremonies will also sing a piece or two.

To honor our nation’s anniversary, Guardia Nueva will dig yet deeper in to the landscape of the Finnish musical soul.

The performance Finland 100 Years consists entirely of Finnish music from different eras. The concert will feature the always-amazing Mari Palo, the striking Matti Korkiala and conductor Raimo Vertainen.

Expect a furious tempo, steamy feelings and delightful visions when beautiful Balkan and romantic Russian rhythms collide with old Finnish schlager music. The international “ethnoband” from Lapland, Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha are coming to Kokkola. The band is known for their live performances from Ruissalo to Suomussalmi as well as from Eira to Inare.

Outside Finland, the band has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Kazakstan, Makedonien, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries. The performance promises to include favorites such as “Hän ei lemmi mua” och “Yö Rovaniemella,” but also fresh bites from the band’s fourth album, which is due out in winter 2017.
